ITEM:  Muschel Centrepiece (Ref 008)

MAKER:   August Walther & Sohne, Germany 1930s

DESCRIPTION:  Finished in Rose Pink satin glass, this is the exquisite 2 piece art deco glass Mermaid centrepiece manufactured  by August Walther & Sohne, Germany,  illustrated in their 1935 catalogue as 'Muschel'.  It is one of this manufacturer's largest and most stunning examples,  rarely found complete with the shell bowl.  

The Mermaid is over 9 inches high and base is 6 inches at its widest point, lower base 2" high.  Bowl - just over 2" high, 9" diameter.
