ITEM: Peter Pan Centrepiece (Item No. 27) MAKER: August Walther & Söhne, Germany DESCRIPTION: This is one of August Walther & Sohne's largest and most spectacular art deco glass centrepieces, and is illustrated in their 1936 catalogue as 'Flotenspieler' (Flute Player). In three parts, the central figure of Peter Pan and Tinkerbell, separate flower frog and large float bowl. The figure depicts a boy dressed in a tunic, playing his flute, and a little girl sitting playing amongst rabbits. Complete in its flower frog it measures 9.5" high and 6" at its widest point. The large matching float bowl is encircled with lily flowers in relief to the outside, with a frosted outer and glossy inner finish. It has an inner raised circular base to accomodate the flower frog. Measurements are 12.5" wide and 3" high. Finished in frosted ice blue glass. Please supersize and study the photographs as they form part of the description. CONDITION: In good overall condition. There is a nick on one of the rabbit's feet (at the back) and a less than pinhead size nibble on the rim edge of the bowl, very tiny and mentioned for complete accuracy.
